Soccer League

Play one of the most popular sports in the world.  Soccer is a great activity that involves teamwork, physical fitness, and fun!  Games are Saturday mornings at the Bus Barn Fields.  Team Practice & meeting for all players will be Tuesday, August 26 at the Bus Barn Fields, Kind. & under 6-6:20 p.m., 1st & 2nd grade 6:20-6:40 p.m., 3-6 grade 6:40-7:00 p.m.  Volunteer coaches needed.  Age as of October 1.  Shin Guards are required!

Games Begin:     Saturdays, September 6-October 4

Age:            4 years old-6th grade

Youth Instructional Volleyball League

The league is designed to teach youth the proper techniques in playing volleyball from passing, setting, & spiking.  Practices will be during the week.  Games will be played on Thursdays (tentative schedule: Sept. 11, 18, Oct. 2, 9).  No uniform to buy, kneepads are encouraged.  Team practice & meeting for all players & parents will be Tuesday, August 26 at CES gym at 7:15-7:45 p.m. Volunteer coaches needed.

Fee:            $16.00 ($5 out of district)

NFL Punt Pass & Kick

Fun competition for boys & girls age 8-15.  Each participant will compete against their peers in punting, passing, & place kicking.  All participants must provide a copy of birth certificate at registration.  Age determined as of 12/31/08.  Volunteers needed.  FREE program.

Cheer Dance Clinic

Cheney High School Cheerleading & Dance squads will instruct this fun clinic.  Participants will receive a t-shirt and wear them at the performance.  Indicate shirt size on the form.  Participants will meet 4 times for practice and then perform at the halftime of the varsity football game Friday, Oct. 17.

Gymnastics

Sign up for a fun class that allows your young one to work on many gymnastic moves, such as cartwheels, backbends, and much more.

Teen Co-ed Sand Volleyball Tournament

Sign a team up and have some fun in the sun and sand.  Play is 4 on 4 with a maximum of 8 per roster.  T-shirts are awarded to the winner.  Teams must submit an entry fee by the deadline.  2 match guarantee.  Games take place at the sand court by the Bus Barn.

WSC Youth Basketball League

4th-6th Graders sign up to play basketball in the West Sedgwick County Basketball League.  All players will be drafted onto a team.  Teams will travel and play other teams from Garden Plain, Norwich, Argonia, Kingman and Conway Springs.  Practices begin at the end of October, and games will be played on Saturdays during November through January.  League tournament will be held in February at Garden Plain.  Volunteer coaches needed.

Parent Note:  Coaches will contact players regarding practice times after the draft is complete.  Parents will be required to sign a Parent's Code of Ethics before their child is allowed to play.  The jersey is a reversible mesh tank top with print on both sides.

Little Hoopers Instructional Basketball

This program is designed to teach young players the proper techniques that it takes to play the game of basketball.  Techniques taught:  passing, dribbling, shooting, etc.  This is not a league, no games are played.  Kind.-3rd graders will also have an instructional league in February/March.  Age based on 10/25/08.

Date:          Saturdays, October 25-November 15

Age/Time:  Age 5 & Kindergarten    9:00-9:55 a.m.

                    1st-3rd grade  10:00-10:55 a.m.

                    4th-6th grade  11:00-11:55 a.m.

Fee:            $15.00 ($5 out of district)

Wee Hoopers Instructional Basketball

Basketball is a fun sport to play, but there are many techniques to learn, especially at a young age.  This program will have the parent/guardian on the floor with their young player and assist them as they are instructed by the leader.  Participants will enjoy the time they spend with each other and learn the basics of basketball.  Age based on October 25.

Age:            3-5 years old

Youth Tennis Basics

Kids will learn basic swings & play mini games to help in the learning process.  No need for a racquet, CRC has plenty of equipment for everyone.

Lil Putter’s

Great program to teach kids the basics of golf.  All equipment provided.  All equipment has oversized heads, balls with directional arrows and tee mats for longer shots.  Age determined as of December 1.
