Red Cross Babysitter's Training This course gives young people the skills and confidence to care for infants through school-age children. This program is interactive and activity-based that builds self-confidence and competence by practicing decision-making and managing real-life situations. Topics include safety issues, preventing injuries and illnesses, basic childcare, first aid, care for choking and age appropriate behavior and play. Everyone must bring a sack lunch with them to class. Class is limited to 10 students. Must contact CRC to reserve a spot before registration. Date: Saturday, May 31 Time: 9:00 a.m.-3:15 p.m. Age: At least 11 Fee: $35.00 Location: CRC Building Deadline: Friday, March 16 Summer Art Program Painting, gluing, cutting, coloring, drawing and more. Great projects scheduled to complete. Class meets in CES MPR. Date: Wednesdays, June 4-25 Time/Age: 9:00-10:00 a.m. 3rd-6th grade 10:00-11:00 a.m. K-2nd grade Fee: $11.00 kid's klub Summer fun here we come. Join us for a six-week session held at the Cheney grade school. Participants will be active in arts & crafts, sports and games, and other fun activities each day. Note: Parents are asked to provide one package of cookies the first week of Kid’s Klub. Additional form must be filled out before the start of program. Age as of June 1. Date: June 3-July 10 Day: Tuesdays & Thursdays Time: 9:00-Noon Age: Age 4 thru Grade 6th Fee: $35.00 Location: Meet in CES MPR Summer bus trips for kidsKids plan now to take a trip on Fridays. We will load the bus at the high school front doors, please be on time or you might miss the bus. Fees include: tickets, bus, & supervisors. Most places have concessions available, so bring extra money if you desire. CRC recommends that all children eat at home before the trips. All trips are for ages Kindergarten through 8th grade with a deadline of Friday, May 16. Trip fees listed below, or all 5 trips fee is $50. Trip #1 June 6 KS Splashdown Indoor Waterpark Have a blast at this indoor waterpark in Hutchinson. Fun slides & lazy river & games. Arcade & concessions available too so bring extra money if interested. Fee: $10.00 Bus Leaves: 12:15 p.m. Bus Returns: 4:45 p.m. Trip #2 June 13 Pump It Up (West Wichita)Pump It Up is a place where kids & families can go and have a blast. They have the latest inflatable designs that are engaging, challenging and interactive. Kids will love bouncing, sliding, climbing & tumbling. Everyone must wear socks. This trip is limited on space, after we reach our maximum we will contact those others and will be on a waiting list. Fee: $12.00 Bus Leaves: 1:20 p.m. Bus Returns: 4:15 p.m. Trip #3 June 20 Tanganyika Wildlife Park Hands on Wildlife Park that has been upgraded and with new buildings and animals. Will get a guided tour and be able to feed some animals and relax with a snack at the end of the tour. Fee: $8.00Bus Leaves: 12:30 p.m. Bus Returns: 2:45 p.m. Trip #4 June 27 All Star Sports WEST Trip includes a wristband that allows each person to play everything for 2 HOURS from bumper boats, mini golf, batting cages and much much more. Concessions & video games available so bring extra money if interested. Fee: $16.00 Bus Leaves: 12:15 p.m. Bus Returns: 3:45 p.m. Trip #5 July 11 Hutchinson Aquatic Center What better way to cool off than taking a dip at the Hutchinson Aquatic Center. The HAC has pools, slides and more. Concessions available. Swimmers are reminded no metal/plastic objects on their swimwear. Fee: $10.00 Bus Leaves: 12:15 p.m. Bus Returns: 5:00 p.m. tae kwon do This is a great activity that teaches respect, self confidence, coordination and much more. Black belt Kraig Seglem of Kim’s Academy of Tae Kwon Do instructs classes for all ages. New session begins each month. Sessions Begin: May 1, June 3, July 1, August 5 Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays Time: 7:00-8:00 p.m. Age: 5 years old through adult Location: CRC Building, 223 E. South Ave. Cost: Individual $30 per month Family $30 first person, $15 for each additional family member What’s Brewin’ in the Kitchen Participants will learn the basics of cooking using the stovetop & oven. They will also learn simple, healthy snacks and meals to prepare at home. Class held at CMS Home Ec. Rm. Supplies will be provided. Date: Tuesdays through Thursdays, June 17-26 Time: 10:00-11:00 a.m. Age: Grades 5-10 Fee: $20.00
